Utility meter reading systems
Utility meter reading systems

Product description

Advance measuring infrastructures (AMI) solutions for urban / residential markets usually differ from and are independent of the required solutions for industrial applications, and include various technologies. The entire AMI-system is based on an intelligent meter, using a 2-way communication which enables remote meter reading and utility network configuring (power, water and gas). In addition to that, it includes a wide range of services focusing on energy and environmental management:

  • Management of water distribution networks for automatic:
    - Water meters reading
    - Detecting leaks beyond the meter and informing customers
    - Detecting leaks before the meter thanks to noise loggers
    - Measuring water quality (level of chlorine, temperature, pressure, conductivity, etc...)
  • Measuring water level in the sewage network
  • Managing energy in buildings (collect consumption data for gas, electricity, and thermal energy)
  • Temperature monitoring
  • Water reserves management
Homerider modules operate in the 868 MHz band, and transmit at a maximum power of 14 dBm. The modules have a data storage and management capacity that allows them to send a large amount of "intelligent" data.

Special features:
  • Current index at time of transmission
  • Hourly index in "Fixed Network" mode
  • Monthly index in "Walk-By" mode
  • Time without consumption (current, passed) which allows, among other things, the detection of blocked meters
  • Maximum flow rate in the period which allows the validation of the pertinence of the type of meter installed
  • Minimum flow in the period which allows determining the leakage volume.
  • Continuous flow rate
  • Consumption histogram
  • Number of backflows (the number of times when the flow has reversed)
  • Volume of backflows
  • Alarms
    - leakage alarms
    - backflow alarms
    - tamper alarm (dismantling, cable-cutting or magnetic fraud...)
    - battery capacity
