Mechanical water meters can be categorized into two main groups:
- Water meters with indirect volume measuring principle, where the medium is led onto the rotor blades. The number of rotations per minute of the rotor is, under certain conditions, proportional to the flow rate, and – as a consequence – to the flow volume. This group is represented by single-jet and multi-jet water meters with vanes, Woltmann water meters, and turbine water meters.
- Water meters with direct volume measuring principle, where the measured medium is seamlessly being filled and emptied from the fixed-volume chambers. The most commonly known versions are the rotating piston water meter, and the oval-gear water meter.
The innovative system design for measuring water consumption unites water meters as well as meter reading systems. The solutions encompass water consumption charging systems in public companies and institutions, cost-allocation according to actual consumption, monitoring and distribution in public water-supply networks, industry and residential systems.
We offer APATOR Powogaz water meters. The APATOR Group incorporates the production of gas meters, power consumption meters, and water meters. In addition to the APATOR water meters, we also offer — depending on the specific requirements of specific applications — third-party water meters which are reliable, and easy to install and to maintain.
All water meters conform to the relevant legal requirements of the Metrology Act and Rules on metrological requirements for water meters.
